Eva and William are not remotely affected emotionally and Eva even expresses her boredom.
Laura makes Jim feel as if he is wanted even without speaking to him. If you want to talk, Jim, then talk. Emily and Jack are two compassionate teenagers that are also in the Chatroom and they try to persuade Jim that they are his friends, and that they are there for him. William and Eva take matters into their hands, due to their cynicism, to do everything in their right to get Jim to kill himself.
William and Eva bully Jack and Emily into leaving the chat room by talking about their past experiences and they explain how they are cowards for not killing themselves already. I came into Chatroom expecting it to be a play aimed very much at a teenage audience, with necessarily, a light treatment of social concerns. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the contrary — that it was a transcendent dramatic exploration of some of the most pressing issues online and in the real world today. Clearly, producing Chatroom would not have chat room play characters a piece of cake either, but we are happy that it was so well baked and served.
